ANN ARBOR WEB DESIGN COMPANY WIN'S AWARD FOR ACCESSIBILITY

Showing That Accessible Websites Are More Important Than Ever

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Contact: Ross Johnson Telephone: 734-231-3369 Email: Ross@3point7designs.com

Ann Arbor based 3.7 Designs received an award of “Quality Universal Design” from the web accessibility showcase “Access Sites.” The organization granted the award for developing an attractive and accessible website, stating that “The 3.7 Designs website immediately impressed us. It’s a great-looking site and it’s accessible.”

There is currently a lawsuit in process in California that is examining the responsibility of Target to provide web sites that can be used and accessed by those with disabilities. With precedent pending, accessibility should be a concern for all website owners.

Ross Johnson, co founder of 3.7 Designs, is passionate about accessibility and electronic media. “Many fail to realize that people who visit their website have poor motor skills, cognitive disabilities, or low or complete lack of vision.” He states that accessibility is a responsibility and it makes good business sense. “These users are your customers, and in many cases it is easier for them to look you up On line than to stop by your location.”

In addition to ensuring 3.7 Designs web projects are accessible, Ross Johnson co-hosts an Internet radio podcast on accessible web design called “Web Axe” and co-founded the non-profit Refresh Detroit organization which promotes and teachers better web practices to students and developers in the greater Metro Detroit area.

If you'd like more information about this topic, or to schedule an interview with Ross Johnson, please call Ross Johnson at 734-231-3369, e-mail at Ross@3point7designs.com, or visit the 3.7 Designs website at 3.7 Designs.
